He graduated in biology in 1998 from the University of Urbino, Italy and specialized in molecular genetics at the University of Bologna in 2001. During his postgraduate studies, he participated in many basic research activities at the University of Bologna, particularly in the field of embryogenesis, and gained extensive experience in gamete biology.
His dedication to these issues contributed to his ESHRE certification as a “Senior Clinical Embryologist”, which opened the possibility for him to undertake clinical research and molecular and cell biology studies in institutional centres such as the “Infermi Hospital” in Rimini, where Dr Palini heads the section related to IVF (in vitro fertilization) used both in cases of primary infertility, as well as associated with cancer in women.
His main interests are in the biological and genetic aspects of human reproduction in cancer-related infertility, with a focus on gene expression profile in gametes, genomic evaluation and gene signature of primary female infertility, gamete and embryo vitrification.
Dr Palini has participated as a speaker in numerous international conferences and graduate courses. In 2013, he was awarded the “Roberts Edward Prize” for his research on gene DNA properties in human blastocyte fluid, and in 2018 he was awarded the GFI Prize for additional research on miRNAs in blastocyte fluid. His research findings have been published in several national and international scientific journals, where he has authored more than 50 articles.
Certifications:
Senior Clinical Embryologist of European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology
Roberts Edward Prize
In 2007, she received a degree with honours in Biotechnology and Medicine at the University of Bologna, Italy, for her dissertation on in vitro oocyte maturation.
In 2012, she completed master’s degree in reproductive medicine at the University of Padua in Italy, and in 2015 she completed master’s degree in reproductive sciences and assisted reproductive technology.
In the same year, Dr De Stefani completed an international course at ESHRE in Barcelona, where, having passed the exams, she obtained a certificate in Clinical Embryology. She then joined the Department of Reproductive Physiopathology at Cervesi Hospital, Cattolica (RN) and since 2017 she has been in charge of the IVF laboratory in Rimini. She specialises in diagnostic procedures and assisted reproductive techniques.
Dr De Stefani has also participated in several human infertility clinical trials using improved procedures and methods for female insemination.
Holds a master degree in biotechnology and a certificate in laboratory diagnosis. For years, she has been interested in genetics, expanding her knowledge in this field by participating in a scientific project at the University of Aarhus (Denmark), and then working at the Institute of Occupational Medicine in Sosnowiec.
Professionally, she is also interested in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. She dealt with this subject at the Instituto de Investigaciones Biomedicas “Alberto Sols” in Madrid and in the Laboratory of Molecular Biology of the Institute of Oncology. Since 2010, he has been expanding her knowledge and skills in the field of diagnosis and treatment of infertility. She holds the title of Clinical Embryologist of ESHRE (Clinical Embryologist of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology) and Clinical Embryologist of the Polish Society of Reproductive Medicine.
Student of Medical Biotechnology. Actively developing her knowledge of in vitro procedures. She is particularly interested in the role of AMH in the diagnosis of infertility among young women.
